What are you attracting?

If I could tell people about my greatest truth or personal discovery, my answer would be Everything is Energy! It is my own philosophy that came through observation and my own life experiences. If your current inner hum or inner energy or vibe is frustration, that is what you will attract more of. If it is happiness, that is more of what you will attract. For me, that’s a fact, Jack! You can feel the energy in a crowd of people, in a small group, or in one person.

I have felt the energy of an event or person to make an informed choice. I use my intuition every day doing many routine tasks to feel the energy of What Is, to make the best decisions going forward. You can too.

This does not guarantee life won’t throw you a curve ball now and then. But the only real power or control you have is how you act in regards to the outer circumstances. You can use your knowledge of the energy of a situation or person to guide you.

On gossip and complaining

Not engaging in gossip in a small office or group of people is very hard to do. Gossip may start out in the form of being strictly information. But be careful. I have often been tempted to join in. It is a lifelong work in progress and I constantly work on being more positive and happy. At the time of writing this article, I have been at my current job over fourteen years. There is a high potential for a lot of baggage to have collected over the years. Learning to let go is a good habit. Learning not to collect the baggage in the first place is even better! I am proud to say that where I work, there is very little gossip these days.

Gossiping doesn’t make for a happy day at work, and it only makes you feel less in control of your situation. On top of that it leaves you feeling worse than when you began. There’s a reason for that. Being a gossip or engaging in negative talk results in much lower-vibrational energy and much lower feelings of worth. It’s not worth it just to fit in and go along with the crowd, or be one of the gang.

For me, going with group mentality and not rocking the boat has been a lifelong habit of self-survival. I am now finding this does not suit my spiritual growth. If I find that I have slipped and gossiped or complained about a coworker or situation—even if it seems I am being factual and only reporting what I observe—I get a physical feeling in my gut that is uncomfortable. I know it was wrong to do and was negative energy. This feeling is a physical manifestation of my intuition telling me I have been engaging in a low-vibrational activity that does not suit my higher good. Continue reading

You are the author of your life

You are always in charge of your life. No one else is. Just you. Really. And no one person, no outside circumstance or event can change that. The quality of your life and the direction it takes on a moment-by-moment basis is now, and always has been, in your control.

photo-1469460684636-7c3d8da2241e.jpeg

Here is a quote from Viktor Frankl that illustrates this point. He spent time in Nazi concentration camps and this was one of his insights.

“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.” (From Viktor Frankl’s book, Man’s Search for Meaning.)

Now if a guy who spent time in Nazi concentration camps can find a way to be happy, I figure pretty much anyone can follow suit.

Being in charge of your own life is good news, because your happiness is yours to command. You can have it any time you want it. Especially if you have the attitude of gratitude for where you are on your path. It never hurts to say thank you. In fact, it is a higher-level vibration you bring in when you utter those words and feel it in your heart. Then you attract more of the same level, the same vibration of good energy. What goes around, comes around. There are a hundred ways to say it.

Once that is internalized, you have tapped into a tremendous amount of power within. It is really the power of the Universe running through you, because you have just allowed yourself to be a vessel for Universal life force or what I call (Universal) Flow. The Universal life force is without you and within you, and you can use it to make a good life and you can use it to make a difference in other people’s lives, and the world.

If you stop worrying about the next bad thing that might happen, and stop jumping to conclusions, and instead concentrate on what is in front of you, good or bad, life becomes much more freeing and easier to handle. It does not mean there will be no more bad outer circumstances, no more drama, it means you will be more ready, and more comfortable in handling these ups and downs. The outer world is always changing, but you can and should always have control of the inner you. It can be, and is for me, a new way of life that is easier, more freeing, and happier.

The joy of being, which is the only true happiness, cannot come to you through the world of form, possession, or achievement, person or event. It cannot come through anything that happens. This joy cannot come to you ever. It emanates from the formless dimension of spaciousness within you, from consciousness itself, and this is one with who you are. ― Eckhart TolleThe Power of Now

Having a loving intent

Probably the single most important point to remember in going forward consciously creating and living your own life, is to hold a loving intent in your heart. Feel it, breath it, sense it, know it, and hold it in your heart. When you speak, that loving intent will be present, and others will notice it, and they will be affected by it. They will not be able to help being enveloped by it. Because you ARE it, you are living it, feeling it, at every second.

There is a saying that resonates with me. “Everything you say, say it with love.” If you are experiencing anger, frustration, or fear, if you take a few seconds to remember that piece of advice and change your intent and feeling before you speak or act, you will have just changed the circumstances for the better. You will have also done a lot to reduce the amount of drama that is unfolding. That is because, by adding love to your message, you have tempered what is in your heart, and taken the drama out of it on your end. Certainly the other parties involved will notice this change, even on a subconscious level. It is up to them to change if they want to. If they do not, you can opt to drop out of the situation or continue to diffuse it with your loving intent. I was in a situation involving two other people who were having a heated argument. Each tried to get me on their side, and involve me. I refused to be part of their highly emotional argument because it was fear-based.

By standing by silently but still in the room and focusing my inner hum and intent to love, I was ‘being the space’ for each of them to do their thing. By broadcasting love, I may have helped to temper the energy in the room. This is a good practice for spiritual development. It was my first lesson in learning to stand aside while drama is playing out. I was there in the room. My friends tried to engage me in an emotionally upsetting episode. I declined, and stayed present, broadcasting love. It was a very enlightening and freeing experience. Believe me, as you grow more, the Universe will send you examples and situations to practice your newfound skills! There’s the old joke of asking for patience, and then having your patience be tested over and over. Sooner or later you will get the hang of it!

I would like to add that having a loving intent does not mean you have to give up anything. It does not mean rolling over and saying “Uncle.” It is not giving up or giving in. It’s not having a Pollyanna outlook. It is simply choosing love, instead of its opposite, which is fear. This is an important distinction that may become clear to you over time.

What the heck is Universal Flow?

So, you ask what the heck is Universal Flow? You talk about it all the time and it’s one of the classes you teach. The answer boys and girls is, it’s the energetic flow of life all around you, and within you. This includes all of nature, emotions, feelings, people, and even places. You can tap into it, go with the flow, get a read on different situations and act accordingly. Much like surfing, there will be ups and downs in the flow, but you can learn to ride these waves.

photo-1444703686981-a3abbc4d4fe3.jpeg

It’s a place of feeling, sensing or knowing. Have you ever walked into a room and, without anyone saying a word, you can feel there is tension as thick as pea soup? That’s you sensing the Universal Flow in one particular flavor. Tension, which is fear based. Everyone in the room contributes to this in one form or another. They may be creating the tension by stirring the pot or confronting someone. Or they may be bystanders affected by witnessing the events unfolding.

You might feel a different flavor of Flow in a crowded event that is fun and uplifting. It’s not just your own emotions you are feeling, there is also a general vibe that is being broadcast. Especially an event with a lot of people such as an outdoor concert. Remember, you are a sender and receiver of energetic vibrations. Here is an article on the topic by Steve Pavlina.

One place where you are sure to pick up on this vibe is almost any airport. Most everyone is in a rush, hates the ordeal of checking in hours before their flight, standing in line, waiting for their flight, and hearing of delays. For me it is going into one particular chain store, larger than several football fields. The air is stale and seems to suck the very life essence out of me after about five minutes! I take special pains to not go in that store, if I don’t absolutely have to. The vibe in there is awful.

Setting your inner vibe to a loving intent for the day helps you to sense the lay of the land of the bigger picture—the Universal Flow. This is also a place from which you may apply the Law of Attraction. You are working in a co-creative effort when you use your intent and the Laws of Attraction to direct your life. If you have an intent of loving kindness, you will attract more of the same. Life is a lot easier that way!

Once you are open to feeling and sensing different energies from people, places and events, you will start getting intuitive nudges on how to act, what to do. You will feel more confident in trusting your own intuition and going with the flow. These intuitive hits or nudges may help you in difficult situations, as well as everyday, routine tasks. In any case, that’s my simplified version of what Universal Flow is. I use it every single day, in every part of my life, no matter how small, and I have never felt more empowered or free!

Divine Right Timing

Or thought of another way, you can’t do anything wrong. I learned this saying, this idea, when I was at an evening talk in Albuquerque some years back. It stuck with me and rang true. The idea is, there is no such thing as a coincidence. It’s meant to be. Everything happens at the right time, even if it seems to you that things are going wrong, or you are running late. I’ve heard this many times, and through experience I have come to trust and believe in it.

photo-1454817481404-7e84c1b73b4a.jpeg

Remember this especially when you feel you made mistakes, or are running late, or even can’t make a date you said you could. All things from Spirit come with Divine Right Timing. Always. This is a sort of get out of jail free card in terms of worry. Stop worrying if your late arrival somewhere, or you lack of being able to do such and such is a terrible tragedy or is in some way wrong. It isn’t. Stop worrying. Spirit has your back. You did nothing wrong.

If you still feel bad about being late, or missing a connection of some sort, or not achieving a personal goal by a certain age, time, etc. realize that there is a divine plan, and you are part of it. You just can’t see the whole picture. If you are worried about something not happening at the right time, or are not sure what to ask for, always add the phrase, …with divine right timing. Then let go and be patient.

My kryptonite

For someone who teaches classes about dealing with Chaos and Drama, and relaxing and going with the Universal Flow, I need to practice more what I preach. For me going to an airport, through security, and especially flying, really freak me out. Handling it as best I can is a huge challenge. Employing what I have learned to drop any fear, anxiety and worry, and pick up on the ‘go with the flow’ good attitude is hard in my most fearful situation. So at least I can stay connected to my students in that we are all human, we all have flaws, have problem areas, none of us is perfect. Especially me! You could say that being in an airport, and being at the mercy of someone else, especially turbulence and landing, are the perfect learning ground for me.

I can sit in traffic for hours and never mind being unable to get through, or having a long wait, or a long-unknown detour. But there is something about the total lack of control of being at the mercy of the airlines, getting one delay after the other. Getting a text message every hour telling me of another unexplained two-hour delay felt like the movie Groundhog Day. At least I had my Continue reading

Living at a higher frequency

I believe how we handle situations, is much of our soul’s purpose in coming here. To continually tweak and adjust our behavior is important. I can measure and see my spiritual grown by noticing the new and better ways I handle situations. Maybe previously my reaction would have been one of anger or irritation. My new discovery might have been that I remained open and detached from what the outcome would have been. This feels lighter, more engaging, more with the flow. Easier. Hey why not do this more often?

It is important to find new ways and new levels of being while we live in the difficult world of third dimension with its duality. I’m not talking about ways of doing things technically. It’s about the feel and the flow. I now place more importance on how I handled a situation, than I do on the outcome. It is how things are handled that is important to me. The end result might be, for example, for me to be open and stand aside from any drama. In the past all I might have experienced was frustration at trying to control things and have them go my way, which is never a good way to operate.  Continue reading

Life takes practice.

As I like to say “Life takes practice.” All those little details in life, the day-to-day moments, that’s where the real learning is. We all make mistakes, especially me. That’s a joke, sort of. 😉 Living on planet Earth can be crazy, brilliant, confusing or downright difficult. We are each on our own journey. Our paths intersect, meander, collide. We become lost, and then find a new way. On this journey, one thing’s for sure, we never get through life alone. We are all in this together, learning and sharing the experience to expand our awareness. It gives one hope to think we can share our experiences and learn from each other on this crazy ride called life on Earth. Life is in the details. Life takes practice. This blog is meant to share what I learn in a very simple, easy to understand way. I get at the nuts and bolts and give you enough information to do your own research. Happy traveling and hope to see you on the path!
