Being in authenticity

What exactly does that mean? For me it means being a genuine person, being open, transparent as possible, organic, home-grown, you name it. I believe that it really means being true to yourself. It’s like being an open book to others with no hidden agendas. I think of it as standing in your personal power but doing no harm. To me it is being yourself, as much as you can be. The more you are true to yourself, the more people will see, feel, and sense your authenticity.

“This above all, to thine own self be true. And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man.” —From Hamlet, by William Shakespeare

The above quote from Hamlet is something that often comes to mind when someone is looking for advice on what to do and they are inwardly conflicted or really torn about something and they have to make a decision. If you take the advice and are true to yourself, most everything else falls into place. Take care of yourself first, then others can be served.

This is also a really big hint to the fine line between being compassionate and being a doormat for the world.

Use your intuition to see if others you interact with are in authenticity, if it is not clear from the get go. Use those Spidey senses to reach out and see what you get. For yourself, set your vibe for the day to be in authenticity as much as possible if you are trying to cultivate it. Usually you don’t have to necessarily work at cultivating it, but it can’t help to be mindful of it. I would guess that anyone wanting to cultivate authenticity is 99% of the way there already. 😉 If you want to find out more about being in authenticity, here is a lovely, in-depth article about cultivating authenticity here.

When you learn to be more in the Universal Flow of everyday life, and have your intuition dialed up to 10 (or 11 for you This is Spinal Tap fans) , you will no doubt be able to tell someone real from someone not fully standing in their own authenticity. You don’t need to necessarily avoid those people that are not fully authentic. But keep it in mind when dealing with them. Also cut them some slack for not being perfect. Know they too have their path to live. But perhaps don’t become too engaged in something you need to commit to if you are involved with them. You know what I mean. Be judicious. Learn to trust your intuition, and be in authenticity as much as you can for your own benefit.
